CONTAINING MULTI-NATIONALS

It seems that the world is gradually being taken over by multi-nationals. They are able to play nations and international blocks off against each other. Fpr example by shifting investment from one country to another to avoid local taxes and regulations. Nations rather than their people control things like UN, EU, World Bank etc. These international bodies are subject then indirectly to the requirements of multi-national businesses. There is a need to consider how an international body might exist with large grass roots popular membership to confront the power of multi-nationals. Already we have international bodies with grass routes membership-  e.g Charities like Oxfam, Pressure groups like Greenpeace and World development Movement, andpolling organizations like Avaaaz. Perhaps they could work together to form a broader group
