Cloud one one over South West England this Summer

You can enjoy being part of Cloud 11 by going to these two exciting festivals: 

at Belmont Park in Exeter on Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2nd June. This is a FREE high quality and exciting artistic event attracting outstanding musicians and other performers. Workshops, stalls, meeting places and play areas,  provide for a wide range of needs and interests. The overall atmosphere celebrates the creativity of a diverse population. Opening times are 12 to 7 pm on Saturday and 11 to 6pm on the Sunday. See  www.exeter-respect.org/

Cloud One One has a stall and workshop at the Old School in Milverton. A fantasy city and civilization will be created in the workshop. Visitors will be encouraged to help build the City and give their ideas as to how it might be somewhere better to live. The workshop is open from 10 to 12.30 at the weekends during the Festival

A FANTASY CITY         

 

 I am asking local people to help me build a fantasy city out of clay. The only requirement is that it is not local. It is somewhere else that we do not know yet. 

Although new it cannot emerge completely from nothing. At the best it will come into being by bringing together of many existing ideas and experiences. Cities are created and adapted over time to meet the requirements of the people who live in them or make use of them.  
Therefore what is needed is knowledge as to how people live in different situations and ideas about how they might live if circumstances change

Work on the City has started. Here is a bit that has been finished.

Hello. This post is especially to welcome people from Russia and China because 
many visits to this site have come from these countries.  I realise that some visits are automatic but I would like the people who arranged these as well as those who looked at the site themselves to know that I am grateful for their interest. There may be key words, like “cloud” or “on-line” and “security” that I should use more to attract their attention.

Anyway, I am going to do my best to make the site more interesting for people from Russia and China from now on. I am going to attach one of my most popular pictures to this blog so that you and everyone else can enjoy it.

CONTAINING MULTI-NATIONALS

It seems that the world is gradually being taken over by multi-nationals. They are able to play nations and international blocks off against each other. Fpr example by shifting investment from one country to another to avoid local taxes and regulations. Nations rather than their people control things like UN, EU, World Bank etc. These international bodies are subject then indirectly to the requirements of multi-national businesses. There is a need to consider how an international body might exist with large grass roots popular membership to confront the power of multi-nationals. Already we have international bodies with grass routes membership-  e.g Charities like Oxfam, Pressure groups like Greenpeace and World development Movement, andpolling organizations like Avaaaz. Perhaps they could work together to form a broader group
